Dylan Coleman was born on Mother's Day in 1988. He spent most of his early childhood wearing yellow raincoats and sitting idly in his yard on a dead end street in rural Townsend, Massachusetts. Fortunately for him, the previous owners of his house owned a piano and were too lazy to take it out. When he was about 8 years old he started taking classical piano lessons. Unfortunately for him, a couple years later he got pretty bored of practicing and his lessons ceased. In 2002 his friends were starting a band and didn't have a bass player and since playing bass on a keyboard was impractical and didn't sound very good, he bought an electric bass. He got bored of that music and started playing jazz around his sophomore year of high school via Jaco Pastorius and fusion music. About a year after that, he was bored of that music and upon realizing he wanted to play jazz and that most of his favorite players played acoustic bass, he decided to learn how to play acoustic bass as well. A year after that he had to apply to college, so he did, and now he goes to Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts when he is busy playing in many great ensembles with fellow musicians (Atticus Berger, Joey Lefitz, Johnny Nicholson, & Roy Guzman among many other students and teachers). Fortunately for him, he hasn't gotten bored yet.
